COMMUNITY MINORITY CULTURAL CENTER (CMCC) | 298 UNION STREET | LYNN, MA. 01901

Community Minority Cultural Center (CMCC) is the first and only minority non-profit agency in the city of Lynn created in 1972 to serve the needs of the African American community and other immigrant groups such as Latinos, Russians and Asians to name a few. Over its 39 year history, CMCC has played a variety of roles in the community, many times as a community partner with local government and community agencies to improve the lives of the city´s minority population; to serve as an advocate and address issues such as discrimination, education, employment, development of low income housing; and provide arts and cultural events. Throughout its history, CMCC has also worked with adult and youth through afterschool, cultural and educational programs.

The mission of the Community Minority Cultural Center is to promote multiculturalism, provide multicultural enrichment programs for all youths and adults so that they may take pride in the achievements of all ethnic groups and races, disseminate information regarding social services and economic opportunities, and provide a place where persons of diverse cultures may meet, conduct programs, share experiences, and address mutual problems in the greater Lynn area. In fulfilling its mission, the CMCC serves as a bridge to Lynn´s increasingly diverse community and its more established institutions.
