CMCC’s Family Advocates provide a comprehensive approach to service delivery, client access to community resources and referrals also provide a description of our programs and an overview of CMCC. Advocates will assist clients throughout the entire process and provide multilingual services as needed.
The ESOL Program provides effective and level appropriate language instruction to non-native English speakers. At the beginner level, we offer ESOL students an opportunity to learn, understand, speak, read, and write in English. The curriculum is based on the Department of Education frameworks.
Conducts basic training programs in computer literacy, database management, word processing, computer-aided design, graphics, and other methods of managing, processing and presenting information.
Program is designed to provide a path to guide and support all legal immigrants to become citizens. Program will also provide access to limited instruction, ESOL, computer class and civic engagement.
CMCC’s School Age Enrichment Program’s purpose is to provide the children of Lynn with an afterschool space where they are able to improve their educational and social skills in a safe and caring environment. SAEP’s goal is to provide an environment that will help children appreciate their self-worth as it supports and encourages their intellectual, social, and physical development.
CMCC SAEP opens for the entire summer providing activities for the children. It is offered to new and current families in the SAEP. Programming hours will be from 8:30am to 5:30pm.
Summer Youth Employment
CMCC hires youth six weeks out of the summer offering them the opportunity to work and gain experience in various work areas. During this time the youth will also work on literacy throughout the summer.
Arts & Culture
There are various opportunities that CMCC offers to the community that is involved with learning through art and culture. This includes events happening in Lynn like movies, social nights, theater productions, concerts and multicultural fairs.
Health, Wellness and Obesity
CMCC in partnership will provide clinics to address health and social disparities. In addition CMCC will provide fairs throughout the community to address fitness and health.
CMCC offers support to low-income families in Lynn who are in a constant struggle in maintaining a household. Support and resources will be offered through our Family Advocacy.
Seminars provide education on current information related to the credit industry. Educate consumers how to navigate, use and rebuild their credit. As an additional offering of CMCC we will provide a pathway to rehabbing credit.
Financial and Asset Management
CMCC provides various workshops to current and first time home buyers. During the program buyers will learn about pros and cons of buying a house, the benefits, information on resources and CMCC will provide support throughout the process of becoming a home owner. Support will also be provided through our Family Advocacy system.
CMCC provides resources that will help low-income households reduce the risk of poverty by building assets through home ownership, savings, higher education and entrepreneurship.
Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development (LHAND)
The city of Lynn has received a $2 million grant, which will be administered by LHAND, from the Department of Housing $ Urban Development to be used for lead paint abatement in Lynn. The goal is to de-lead 100 units over the next 3 years.
